‘Green Factory Award 2025’ 30 factories honored with the achievement
Published At: June 24, 2025A total of 30 industrial establishments from across 16 different sectors were honoured with the prestigious Green Factory Award 2025, recognizing their outstanding contributions to eco-friendly and sustainable industrial practices in Bangladesh.
Award-winning companies in the Textiles & Apparel Sectors from the Green Factory Award 2025:
The awards were presented at a formal ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Monday (June 23). The event was graced by Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain, Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Employment and Ministry of Shipping, as the chief guest.
Adilur Rahman Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Industries and Ministry of Housing and Public Works, attended as the special guest.
Organized under the ‘Green Factory Award Policy-2020’ by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the initiative recognizes environmentally responsible industrial establishments that demonstrate excellence in sustainability and compliance.
Two concerns of the PRAN-RFL Group, Charka Textile Limited and Habiganj Agro Limited, were among the winners.
Accordingly, in the Shipbuilding & Shipbreaking sector, three companies were recognized for their environmentally friendly practices: PHP Shipbreaking and Recycling Industries Ltd and KR Ship Recycling Yard, both located in Chattogram, and Khulna Shipyard Ltd.
The Cement sector saw Seven Circle (Bangladesh) Ltd of Gazipur awarded, while BSRM Steels Ltd in Chattogram received the award in the Steel Mills category.
In the Automobile sector, Pragati Industries Ltd of Chattogram was the sole recipient. From the Electrical & Electronics industry, Transcom Electronics Ltd and Fair Electronics Ltd, both in Narsingdi, and Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd in Gazipur received awards for their sustainable operations.
The Food Processing sector honored Akij Food and Beverage Ltd of Dhaka and Habiganj Agro Ltd from Habiganj. In the Tea Industry, both Jerin Tea Garden in Sreemangal and Mirzapur Tea Garden were recognized. X Ceramics Ltd in Gazipur received the award under the Tiles & Ceramics category.
Two companies stood out in the Cosmetics sector: Remark HB Ltd of Munshiganj and Square Toiletries Ltd from Narayanganj. Lastly, SKF Pharmaceuticals Ltd, located in Gazipur, was the sole awardee in the Pharmaceuticals industry.
Each awardee received a crest, a certificate, and a cash prize of Tk 1 lakh. A booklet titled 'Green Factory Award-2025' was also unveiled during the event.
The event was presided over by AHM Shafiquzzaman, Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, with a welcome address delivered by Omar Md. Imrul Mohsin, Inspector General of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments. Ardashir Kabir, President of the Bangladesh Employers’ Federation (BEF), also spoke at the event.
This initiative highlights the government’s growing emphasis on promoting sustainable industrial growth and setting benchmarks for environmental compliance in Bangladesh’s manufacturing sector.
