The 23rd edition of Garment Technology Bangladesh (GTB) 2026 to officially commenced on January 14, 2026. As the country’s premier showcase for ready-made garment (RMG) technology, the four-day event has brought together an elite assembly of global machinery manufacturers, buyers, and solution providers.
Organized by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., the expo serves as a critical sourcing hub, featuring cutting-edge innovations in sewing, finishing, embroidery, and automation.
Bringing global innovation to the doorstep
Reflecting on the expo's journey, Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, Managing Director of ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd., highlighted how the event has revolutionized how Bangladeshi entrepreneurs access technology. In a recent insight shared via Textile Today, Bhuiyan recalled a time when local manufacturers had to travel as far as Japan just to see advanced machinery.
Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan noted What started in 2002 at a small field in Gulshan with a handful of participants has now grown into a massive "milan mela" (gathering) for the entire RMG sector . GTB 2026 now spans a staggering 250,000 square feet across the ICCB complex, including the specialized "Expo Village."
A critical pivot toward automation
The 2026 expo arrives at a turning point for the industry. With global demand shifting toward complex products and stringent compliance, Bhuiyan emphasized that survival in the international market now depends on two pillars: productivity and quality.
"To remain competitive globally, you must use updated machinery," Bhuiyan explained. He pointed out that modern automation showcased at GTB 2026 allows a single automatic machine to perform the work of five to eight manual machines, significantly reducing the physical footprint of factories and optimizing manpower.
Economic impact and industry growth
The expo is not just a technology display; it is a significant economic driver. With 400 to 500 foreign exhibitors participating, the event generates substantial foreign remittance through booth sales and has fostered the growth of local logistics and service sectors.
GTB 2026 offers everything from specialized needles to the latest AI-driven sewing solutions. By providing a platform where entrepreneurs can compare similar technologies side-by-side, the expo empowers factory owners to make informed strategic investments.
Event details
The expo continues through January 17, 2026. Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan has extended an open invitation to everyone from top-tier management to floor-level technicians to witness the future of the industry firsthand.
With a renewed and upbeat response from the industry, GTB 2026 reinforces Bangladesh’s position as a decisive global market for textile innovation and a preferred destination for garment technology sourcing.
