A delegation of 30 representatives from 13 leading Chinese textile companies, led by Zhang Xi'an, Vice Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles (CCCPT), participated in the event. They participated in exclusive business meetings with 53 Bangladeshi manufacturers, which aimed to jointly explore potential cooperation in the areas of man-made fiber (MMF), green textile innovation and home textiles.
The session aimed to deepen trade relations, stimulate foreign investment, create jobs and enhance knowledge and technology exchange between the textile industries of the two countries.
Welcoming the delegation, BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain highlighted the strengths of Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector, emphasizing its growing focus on non-cotton garments, sustainability and innovation.
He noted that Bangladesh is actively working to expand its share in the global MMF garment market – a segment that is fast-growing and represents a significant portion of international garment exports.
The matchmaking event marks a key step in enhancing bilateral cooperation and positioning Bangladesh as a more diversified and sustainable apparel sourcing hub. Both sides expressed optimism about long-term partnerships that would benefit from shared expertise and mutual goals in sustainable growth.
