Bangladesh–Switzerland trade prospects highlighted as SBCCI delegation meets FBCCI Administrator

Engr. Abdur Rashid, President of the Switzerland-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SBCCI), and Country Managing Director of SGS Bangladesh Ltd. paid a courtesy call on Md. Hafizur Rahman, Administrator of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI), at the FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka.

The discussion was attended by FBCCI Secretary General Md. Alamgir, Adviser of the FBCCI Safety Council Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Abu Nayeem Md. Shahidullah; Saad Omar Fahim, Secretary General, SBCCI and Director, CLARICHEM LTD (Bangladesh); Coordinator Mohammad Mohi Uddin Bhuiyan.

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) is the apex trade organization of Bangladesh, playing a pivotal role in consultative and advisory capacity, safeguarding the interests of the private sector.

Notably, FBCCI maintains close relations with Trade and Industrial Associations and other mercantile and public bodies abroad, and also interacts with various international economic and trade promotion organizations, including UNDP, ESCAP, UNIDO, ITC, and GATT-UNCTAD.

Presentl,y FBCCI is the chair of the BCIM (Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar) Business Council.

During the discussion, the leaders agreed that closer collaboration could pave the way for expanded trade relations, technology transfer, and stronger private sector engagement between the two countries.
