The global home textile market is moving toward a major milestone and is projected to reach $200.28 billion by 2031. Growth is supported by a rising middle class, rising consumer spending on home decor, and growing demand for comfortable, functional living spaces.

According to Mordor Intelligence, the market is projected to reach $145.29 billion in 2026, up from $136.25 billion in 2025. The industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 6.63 per cent between 2026 and 2031.

Digital retail is transforming the home textile industry. Many brands are strengthening their direct-to-consumer strategies by expanding their online stores and building stronger customer relationships. Digital tools such as product visualisation, detailed descriptions, and virtual consultations help consumers make better purchasing decisions and replicate the in-store experience online.

Regionally, the Asia Pacific dominated the global market, accounting for 45.08 per cent in 2025. Strong manufacturing ecosystems in China and India allow vertically integrated production from spinning to finishing, helping suppliers respond quickly to global demand trends.

In North America, growth is driven by rising demand for sustainable materials and high-performance textiles, while companies are exploring near-shoring strategies to reduce logistics risks. In Europe, stricter environmental regulations are pushing companies to adopt recycled fibres and transparent production systems.

Bangladesh remains behind many leading exporters in the global home textile market, even as global demand continues to expand. The country’s home textile market was valued at $491.4 million in 2025 and is projected to reach $511.16 million in 2026, while exports generated about $871.57 million in the 2024–25 fiscal year. However, the widening global demand for home textiles presents a significant opportunity for Bangladesh to expand its presence in this segment.

In response, several leading manufacturers, including Noman Group, DBL Group, ACS Textiles (Bangladesh) Ltd., Apex Weaving and Finishing Mills Ltd., and Momtex Expo Ltd., are investing in sustainable, higher-value manufacturing to strengthen their competitiveness and scale up production. Bed linen currently remains the dominant product category, accounting for 45.62 percent of the country’s home textile output.
