BTE showcases sustainable textile solutions from Benninger and THIES at Dhaka Water Savings Summit

At the recent ‘Water Saving in the Textile and Garment Industries (WaSaTex)’ event held in Dhaka, Bengal Technology and Engineering Associates (BTE), a prominent machinery and equipment supplier in Bangladesh, presented cutting-edge solutions from its European principals, Benninger and THIES, emphasizing sustainability, digitization, and efficiency for the textile industry.

Muhammad Farhad Hossain, Managing Director & CEO of BTE, highlighted the shared commitment of Benninger AG (Switzerland/Germany) and THIES (Germany) to providing innovative wet finishing technologies. Both companies, with extensive experience in the textile sector, are focused on significantly reducing water, chemical, and energy consumption while enhancing process automation and reliability.

Benninger AG offers complete solutions for continuous and discontinuous wet finishing of woven and knitted fabrics, built on principles of sustainability, digitization, innovation, and reliability. Their key technologies include the gentle yet intensive Trikoflex washing compartment, the resource-efficient Temptacta for reactive dyed wovens, and the effective KKV washing compartment. Their Ben-Matic control system integrates Industry 4.0-ready automation for precise resource management and predictive maintenance, positioning Benninger as a strategic partner for sustainable and economically sound textile production.

Similarly, German manufacturer THIES focuses on intelligent resource management in textile finishing, offering a broad range of machinery for various fiber and fabric types. Their continuous investment in R&D ensures advanced technologies that minimize water and energy usage while optimizing dyeing results, underscoring their strong commitment to environmental sustainability through machines designed for low liquor ratios and reduced chemical consumption.

Md. Fahim Hassan, Director Sales & Technology at BTE, and Thomas Mende, Area Sales Manager at THIES, also participated in the event, further emphasizing the importance of technological advancements in driving a sustainable future for the textile industry in Bangladesh.

The WaSaTex event, a collaboration between GIZ Bangladesh and H&M, implemented by Reed Consultancy, Bangladesh, aimed to promote water savings in 50 of H&M’s partner factories. The presence and presentations by BTE, representing Benninger and THIES, underscored the crucial role of advanced machinery in achieving the program's goals of significant water reduction through Best Available Techniques and low-cost measures.
